Maribel Garcia

Maribel Garcia is an experienced educator and program coordinator with a strong background in teaching and public service. Since July 2017, Maribel has been a Teaching Resident at Alpha Blanca Alvarado, focusing on 7th grade math and science education. Concurrently, Maribel has served as a Teaching Fellow at Citizen Schools, managing a classroom of twenty-four students. Previous roles include Program Operations Coordinator at Reading Partners, where Maribel supported literacy initiatives in underserved communities, and participation in the City Hall Fellows program, fostering civic engagement. Maribel's early career included various positions in recreational and educational settings, coupled with internships focused on community leadership and research. Maribel holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Mills College, earned in 2014.
