Tyler Whitmire

Tyler Whitmire is a seasoned professional in the field of education advocacy and organizing, currently serving as a Partner at City Fund since April 2019. In addition to this role, Tyler has been with the California Charter Schools Association since November 2013, where responsibilities have included serving as Senior Vice President of Organizing and Statewide Organizing Director, focusing on empowering families of public charter school students across California. Previous experience includes serving as Director of Research and Communications at Stand for Children from September 2011 to November 2013, where Tyler enhanced the organization’s online presence and collaborated on a book project with CEO Jonah Edelman. Tyler also developed and launched Stand University for Parents to facilitate parental involvement in education. Earlier roles at Stand for Children included Portland Director and organizer from 2008 to 2011. Tyler holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Classics from Brown University.
