Chris Janaro

Christopher Janaro is a Zoning, Land Use, and Development Reporter for City Limits, a position held since December 2023. Prior to this role, Janaro was an Editorial Summer Intern at PCMag.com in mid-2023 and served as an Editorial Contributor for Shutterstock from September 2020 to August 2021. In addition, Janaro was a Photography and Photoshop Instructor at The Joel Fund and an Artist in Residence in Documentary Photography with the United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County from 2019 to 2020, where community engagement through photography was emphasized. Janaro's earlier experience includes working as a Photo Archivist for Micato Safaris and a Documentarian at the School of Visual Arts, alongside military service as an Aviation Electronics Technician in the US Navy from 2011 to 2015, which included photo documentary work. Janaro holds a Master of Arts from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Purchase College, SUNY.
