Jason West

Jason West is an accomplished professional in sustainability and local governance, currently serving as the Director of Sustainability and Energy Manager for the City of Albany, New York, since February 2020. Previous experience includes co-founding and presiding over the Wallkill River Watershed Alliance, where efforts focused on water restoration and community engagement from June 2015 to February 2020. Jason West also held the position of Mayor in the Village of New Paltz twice, from June 2003 to May 2007 and again from June 2011 to May 2015, managing municipal operations and community relations. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Climate Science and Policy from Bard College and dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Visual Art from SUNY New Paltz, among other specialized certifications. Early career involvement included performing with Arm of the Sea Theater, emphasizing ecological education.
