Bruce M. Applegate, Jr.

Bruce Applegate MPPA CMFO serves as the City Manager for the City of Alcoa since August 2021, previously holding the position of Deputy City Manager. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant City Manager in Covington, Kentucky, and various positions in Oak Ridge, including Director of Administrative Services. Notable responsibilities encompass updating citywide policies, managing special projects, and overseeing environmental sustainability initiatives. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Project Manager at S & A Property Solutions and Project Specialist in Knoxville, as well as Laboratory Manager at the University of Tennessee. Bruce Applegate holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Purdue University.
