José G. Roig

José G. Roig is an experienced leader in building safety and code compliance, currently serving as the Director of the Development Services Department for the City of Austin since September 2007. Roig has held various leadership roles within the City, including Director and Interim Director of the Austin Code Department, where responsibilities included enforcing city codes and managing compliance programs. With prior roles in various inspection and consulting positions, Roig has extensive expertise in building inspections, code compliance, and project management. Additionally, Roig contributes as a Director At Large for the International Code Council, guiding the organization towards its mission of building safety. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, both from Western Governors University, along with an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science from Kaplan University.
