Mark Armstrong

Mark Armstrong serves as the Chief Communications Officer for the Office of Mayor Sharon Weston Broome since July 2019, where responsibilities include directing strategic communication plans and leading a team to enhance the mayor's public image. Prior to this role, Mark worked as a Broadcast Journalist at WBRZ-TV from January 2015 to July 2019, engaging audiences with creative storytelling and producing content across various media platforms. Mark also held a Broadcast Journalist position at WXXV-TV/Morris Network, delivering accurate news coverage on a range of topics. Earlier professional experience includes an Inside Machinist apprenticeship at Ingalls Shipbuilding, contributing to the construction of US Navy vessels. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Southern Mississippi.
