Drexell Barnes

Drexell Barnes has over two decades of experience in water quality management, currently serving as the Water Quality & Laboratory Services Manager for the City of Bend since October 2001. In this role, Drexell oversees the city's accredited Water Quality Laboratory and ensures compliance with environmental regulations. Previous positions include serving as Environmental Compliance Manager and Laboratory Supervisor, in which responsibilities encompassed directing water quality operations and supervising testing for public health compliance. Prior to the City of Bend, Drexell owned 3DB Wax Co., focusing on sustainable ski and snowboard wax, and held positions as a chemist at Chemica Technologies, Associated Chemists Inc., and Molecular Probes Inc., contributing expertise in organic synthesis and product formulation. Drexell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Oregon.
