Sarah Shawky

Sarah (Terherst) Shawky serves as the Deputy City Manager for the City of Benicia since August 2018, overseeing operations for the City Manager's Office, managing a team, and enhancing public engagement through the establishment of a Communications Team. Responsibilities include managing significant emergency communications and improving citywide administrative policies, as well as successfully managing multiple grants for community-focused projects. Previously, Sarah held positions at various organizations, including Senior Management Analyst, Field Program Coordinator at CNFA, and Complex Global Problems Fellow at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, with a focus on project management, communications, and research in international development. Education credentials include a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations.
