Payam Shahbod has extensive experience in the tennis industry. Payam started their career in 2008 as the Assistant Director of Tennis at the City of Berkeley, where they oversaw all aspects of the tennis program and successfully increased participation. In 2018, Payam joined William Higgins Tennis as a Tennis Professional, teaching after-school programs to students and coaching two teams to USTA Regionals title. Payam also built a strong private lesson clientele. In 2019, they worked at the West Vancouver Tennis Club as a Tennis Professional. Currently, Payam is a Teaching Professional at Coach Payam Tennis, where they continue to share their expertise and passion for the sport.

Payam Shahbod has a diverse education history. Payam started their higher education journey in 1997 at the University of Art, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre/Theater. Payam completed this degree in the year 2000. Later, in 2001, Payam attended Diablo Valley College and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Architecture in 2002.

In addition to their formal education, Payam Shahbod has also obtained several certifications. One notable certification is the Elite Professional certification they obtained in August 2020 from the United States Professional Tennis Association. Furthermore, they achieved the Club Professional 1 certification from Tennis Canada in October 2019. Payam's interest in IT and data analytics is evidenced by their several certifications obtained through Coursera. Some of the notable Coursera certifications they have earned are "Crash Course on Python," "Google IT Support Specialization," "IT Security: Defense against the digital dark arts," and many more. These certifications were acquired between 2023 and 2020, showcasing their commitment to expanding their knowledge in the field.
