Holly Prather

Holly Prather has extensive work experience in the field of community development and planning. Holly started their career as a Resource Specialist in the City of Boulder in 1997. Afterwards, they joined the City of Brighton and held various roles, including Assistant Planner, Associate Planner, Senior Planner, Planning Manager, Assistant Community Development Director, and currently the Community Development Director. Throughout their roles, Holly has demonstrated expertise in managing complex land use cases, evaluating and preparing amendments to municipal codes and comprehensive plans, tracking compliance with residential design standards, and overseeing pre-application meetings. Holly has also negotiated with applicants and prepared agreements related to annexations and subdivisions. Holly has exceptional customer service skills and expertise in site visits, permit reviews, and providing general information related to zoning and development review processes.

Holly Prather holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from the University of Colorado Denver, which they obtained between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Boulder, completing their studies from 1994 to 1999. Additionally, in September 2004, Holly obtained certification as an AICP Certified planner from the American Institute of Certified Planners, and in October 2004, they received the AICP certification from the same institution.
