Kean Register

Kean graduated from Bryan High School in 1980 and received his B.S. in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University in 1986. From 1987 to 1993 Kean worked as the Sr. Marketing Representative in the Bryan District for Lone Star Gas Company. From 1993 to 1995 Kean moved to Arlington, Texas as the Director of Business Development for Lone Star. In 1995 Kean was given the opportunity to move back to Bryan to head up the districts operations group, and held that position through the merger with TXU in 1997. In 1998 Kean accepted the position of Region Manager with TXU, responsible for the overall gas business as well as electric services in TXU’s South Texas region. In September of 2000 Kean accepted a position with BTU, where he held positions responsible for Energy Services, Customer Service, IT, Fiscal Services, Regulatory Affairs, Power Production and Power Marketing. Kean also served as the Acting City Manager for the City of Bryan in 2006 and again from September 2010 through August 2012, when he was selected to fill the job on a permanent basis. Kean is a Master Sergeant in the US Army Reserves and served in the 36th Infantry Divisions Airborne, Ranger and Long Range Surveillance units. Kean also serves on the board of Directors of the Texas Municipal Power Agency and the Texas Public Power Association.
