Gary Carter

Gary Carter has extensive experience in the technology industry. Gary is currently the Director of Information Technology and Security at the City of Carson, California. Prior to this role, they worked at the City of Santa Monica for over a decade, holding various positions including Community Broadband Manager, Broadband Program Administrator, Sr. Administrative Analyst, and Administrative Analyst. During their time at Santa Monica, they managed technology projects, implemented strategic initiatives, and increased program income. Before joining the public sector, Gary worked as an Information Account Executive at Travelers, where they marketed risk management software to Fortune 100 companies.

Gary Carter completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Strategy and Marketing at the Drucker School of Management from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy from West Chester University of Pennsylvania between 1996 and 2001. In addition to their degrees, Gary also holds a certification in Mastering Design Thinking from Emeritus, obtained in 2023.
