Mark Sorensen

Mark Sorensen currently serves as the City Manager for the City of Chico, a position held since July 2022. Prior to this role, Mark held multiple titles including City Administrator, Finance Director, and Utility Director for the City of Biggs from August 2012 to July 2022, managing various municipal services and capital projects. Additionally, Mark was a member of the Chico City Council from January 2009 to December 2018, serving in various leadership roles including Mayor and Finance Committee Chair. Mark's entrepreneurial experience includes ownership and management of Advanced Communications Company, specializing in satellite systems, as well as managerial positions with RCA and GE. Mark has actively contributed to community development through roles with the Chico Chamber of Commerce and Catalyst Domestic Violence Services. Mark has received several awards for community service and advocacy.
