Clive utilizes a Council-Manager form of government, with the five Councilmembers and Mayor establishing short and long term policies, and the Manager leading staff to execute those policies.  Each year the Council establishes strategic priorities and a budget that aligns with the City’s vision and values.

The Public Safety team in Clive, Iowa, is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the city's residents and visitors.
