George Seigler has extensive work experience in emergency services and firefighting. George is currently serving as the Deputy Chief - Operations for the City of Courtenay. Prior to this role, they were the Fire Chief/Manager of Emergency Services for the City of Grand Forks BC. George also held the position of Acting Fire Chief/Manager of Emergency Services and Deputy Fire Chief/Deputy Manager of Emergency Services during their tenure in Grand Forks. Before joining the City of Grand Forks, George was the Regional Deputy Fire Chief - Fire & Emergency Services for the Regional District of Central Kootenay.
In 2014, George was the Deputy Fire Chief of Operations & Training for the City of Iqaluit, where they were responsible for managing the daily operations of the emergency and protective services department. George also facilitated training for firefighters and dispatchers.
George's career started in 2002 with the Courtenay Fire Department, where they served as a Captain/Training Officer. In this role, they trained and evaluated new recruits and oversaw skills maintenance training for their platoon. George was also involved in fire suppression activities and provided first responder medical services.
Additionally, George has worked as a Firefighter/First Responder for Comox Fire Rescue, gaining experience in various firefighting techniques and providing medical services.

George Seigler has a High School Diploma from Georges P. Vanier Secondary School, which they obtained in 1989. In addition, they attended the Justice Institute of British Columbia, where they obtained a Fire Officer Certificate Program in 2017, as well as a NFPA 1021 Fire Officer IV degree in the same year.
