City of Daphne, Alabama
Welcome to Daphne, an active, family-oriented community blessed with beautiful scenery, rich history, and strong quality of life. Located in the heart of the Eastern Shore, our “Jubilee City” has grown from the city’s incorporation in 1927 to the largest city in Baldwin County today. Daphne has become known as a Community of Opportunity, largely in part to the tremendous growth we have seen in recent years. Our success can be attributed to our strong sense of community, which is the culmination of our heritage, southern charm, recreational opportunities, and economic success combined with our most valuable asset – the hospitality and beauty of Daphne. If you are thinking about relocating to Daphne or have recently moved to the “Jubilee City”, you will find that we are a “city on the move.” Even with our consistent growth, Daphne has been able to maintain the ambience of a small town where the people are friendly and caring, and newcomers soon become good friends. Whether you’re visiting us from out of town, a newcomer to the area, or a resident of many years, we invite you to discover Daphne by exploring our parks and trails, visiting our historic landmarks, experiencing Olde Towne Daphne, and enjoying our local restaurants and retailers. There are so many ways to enjoy our city and to see for yourself why Daphne such a special place to live, work and play. Daphne, or "The Jubilee City", is perhaps most famous for being one of the few places in the world to experience the phenomenon known as a “Jubilee”. This event brings blue crabs, shrimp and fish into the shallow waters of the shoreline, just waiting to be scooped up by those waiting to fill their ice chests. www.daphneal.com
