Dr. Iris Ware

Dr. Iris Ware has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dr. Iris is currently serving as the Chief Learning Officer for the City of Detroit, where they led the design and development of the Talent Development and Performance Management function for over 9,000 employees. Dr. Ware is also a member of the OnCon Senior Council, a distinguished group of top executives across various categories that meet monthly to discuss industry challenges and trends.

In addition to their current roles, Dr. Ware has founded and facilitated Visionnaires (formerly Women of Vision), an organization aimed at empowering women. Dr. Iris has also worked as an HRD Strategist and Transformation Navigator for Ware and Associates LLC, where they provided consulting services to clients on performance improvement and training interventions.

Dr. Ware has experience in the automotive industry as well, having worked as an Organizational Development Specialist/Consultant for Detroit Manufacturing Systems and as a Senior Manager of Learning & Development for Daimler Financial Services N.A. Dr. Iris has also held managerial positions at DaimlerChrysler Financial Services and Chrysler Financial, where they focused on executive management development and custom solutions.

Furthermore, Dr. Ware has worked in the education sector as an Education Division Consultant and Trainer for Catholic Social Services of Wayne County and as a Corporate Work Study Program Coordinator for Detroit Cristo Rey High School. In these roles, they developed training programs and interventions to enhance student and employee performance.

Dr. Iris Ware, PhD, MAIR, LPA, HCS, CPT, LOS has an extensive educational background. Dr. Iris obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Administrative and Organizational Studies - Learning Design and Technology from Wayne State University in 2017. In the same year, they also completed a Design Thinking Workshop at Harvard University Division of Continuing Education.

Their previous educational achievements include a Certification in Lean Office and Service from the University of Michigan in 2015, a Master of Arts (MA) in Labor and Industrial Relations from Wayne State University in 1993, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Michigan State University from 1988 to 1990, and an Associate of Arts (AA) in General Studies from Lansing Community College in 1988.
