Josie Ahrens

Josie Ahrens currently serves as a Management Analyst at the City of Emeryville, leading the development of a $68M Capital Improvement Program and managing contract process improvements. Additionally, Josie is a Planning Commissioner in Oakland and has previous experience as a Transportation Planner II at the Oakland Department of Transportation, where notable achievements included implementing award-winning Paving Plans and advocating for equity in funding allocations. With a robust background in urban planning and community organization, Josie has held roles such as Senior Community Organizer at Walk San Francisco and Capital Finance City Hall Fellow at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Josie holds a Master of City Planning from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Urban Studies from Macalester College.
