Tim Williams has a diverse work experience in the field of planning and development. Tim served as the Community Development Director for the City of Federal Heights, where they managed various budgets and oversaw planning, building, and economic development. Tim also played a crucial role in managing the city's CDBG applications and programs, adoption of technical codes and zoning codes, and the Emerald Ash Borer response.
Prior to their role in Federal Heights, Tim worked as a City Planner for the same municipality. During this time, they created a GIS database for the city, secured and managed a GOCO grant for master planning of a local park, redesigned the city's website and newsletter, and processed zoning applications and building permits.
Before joining the City of Federal Heights, Tim worked as a Senior Planner for the City of Pueblo, where they were involved in various projects including Brownfield EPA Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Impact Studies, Arkansas River Riparian Vegetation Restoration Project, and Pueblo City Park Study and Public Outreach.
Tim also served as an Environmental Planner for the Pueblo Area Council of Governments, where they held responsibilities for a year and a half.
Additionally, Tim worked as a Land Use Planner for the City of Pueblo, representing the city to the Board of Adjustment and the Planning and Zoning Commission. Tim also initiated the creation of an environmental GIS database during this time.
Before their career in planning, Tim served in the US Army as an Arabic Linguist, where they underwent training in various locations and ultimately was honorably discharged as a medically retired disabled veteran.

Tim Williams, MS, CPM, AICP has a diverse education history. Tim earned a Master of Science degree in Bioregional Planning from Utah State University, graduating in 2005. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Cedarville University, graduating in 1997.
In 2016, Tim obtained a Certificate in Certified Public Manager from the University of Colorado Denver. Tim also holds additional certifications including Certified Planner (AICP) from the American Planning Association, earned in 2010, and Military Intelligence Corps Member from the US Army, obtained in 1999.
Tim has received various diplomas of education. In 1998, they obtained a diploma from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, specializing in Modern Standard Arabic. Tim also earned a diploma from the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in 2000, focusing on Foreign Language Training Center Europe (FLTCE) and Modern Standard Arabic. In addition, Tim completed diplomas of education in Military Signal/Geospatial Intelligence from the US Army Intelligence School and Cyber/Electronic Operations and Warfare from the US Air Force 17th Training Group (AETC) in 1999.
