Morad Kabiri, PE, AICP, is a seasoned city manager with extensive experience in municipal operations and urban planning. Currently serving as City Manager for the City of Friendswood since November 2007, Kabiri oversees fourteen departments and a workforce of over 270 public servants. Previous roles include Assistant City Manager and Director of Community Development/City Engineer, where Kabiri managed significant capital improvement projects and engineering operations. As a board director for Sienna Municipal Utility District No. 1, Kabiri led efforts on major water treatment and infrastructure initiatives. Kabiri's academic background includes a Master's in Urban Planning & Environmental Policy from Texas Southern University and a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering from the University of Houston. Additionally, Kabiri has served as an adjunct faculty member, teaching engineering graphics and construction layout courses.
