Rob Allen has over 30 years of combined experience as a Building Official, Plans Examiner, and Senior Building Inspector. Rob has served as Chief Building Official for the City of Gilroy since 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Building Official/Plans Examiner/Senior Building Inspector at 4 Leaf inc. from 2015 to 2016. Rob also served as a Supervising Building Inspector for Boulder County from 2012 to 2015, and as a Chief Building Official for the City of Sioux City from 2010 to 2011.
Rob Allen has a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration with a minor in Project Management from Colorado State University Global, which they obtained from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they attended Riverland Technical College in Austin, Mn., where they earned an Associate's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from 1981 to 1983. Rob also has an Associate's Degree in Architectural Drafting and Construction Technology, which they obtained from St Cloud Technical and Community College from 1974 to 1976. In addition to their formal education, Rob has obtained various certifications, including ICC Building Code Official, Accessibility Insp/Plans Exam, Property Maintenance Insp, and others, from the International Code Council in June 2015.
