Douglas Start

Douglas Start is the Director of Information Technology at City of Grand Rapids. Douglas was previously the Director of Instructional Technology at Grand Haven Area Public Schools from August 2000 to January 2017. In their role at Grand Haven Area Public Schools, Douglas was responsible for curriculum development, professional development, coaching, communication, project management and implementation, leading a department, and managing a $2 Million per year budget.

Douglas Start has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Technology Leadership from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Business from Western Michigan University. Douglas also has certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in ITIL Foundations in Technology Management and certification from the State of Michigan in Michigan Teaching Certificate.
