Steve Guitar

Steve Guitar has been working in media relations for the City of Grand Rapids since December 2014. Prior to that, they served as the Community Relations Director for the City of Sterling Heights from January 1995 to December 2014. In their role as the city's media spokesperson, Steve utilized their wide-ranging institutional knowledge and communication skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with members of the media to promote Sterling Heights as an exceptional place to live, work and play. Steve also served as the official liaison to a number of organizations, including the Beautification Commission, Cultural Commission, Ethnic Community Committee and Telecommunications Commission. In addition, Steve led a staff of event coordinators in planning, developing, fundraising, organizing and conducting a variety of special events that attracted thousands of people to the city center each year.

Steve Guitar studied communications at Oakland University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Steve Guitar reports to David Green, Communications Director. They work with Michael Moore - Graphic Artist, Travis Scott - Cable Office Manager, and Amanda Moore - Digital Content Specialist.
