Lauren Cazares

Lauren Cazares currently serves as Vice Mayor and City Councilwoman for the City of La Mesa, a position held since December 2024. Previously, Cazares was a Policy Advisor at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, focusing on Environment & Sustainability, Small Business, Cannabis, and Economic Development. Additional experience includes roles as a Fellow with the San Diego Leadership Alliance, Director of Scheduling & Administration, and Confidential Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff within the City of San Diego under Mayor Todd Gloria. Cazares has managed political campaigns, served as Regional Deputy Field Director for a mayoral campaign, and held various teaching and leadership positions in educational and community organizations. Cazares holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s Studies from Point Loma Nazarene University and has also studied at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
