Michael Parks

Michael Parks has extensive experience in communications and journalism. Michael served as the Director of Communications for the City of Harrisonburg, VA since April 2019. Prior to that, they held the same position for the Town of Indian Trail from August 2015 to April 2019. Michael also worked as an Editor for The Franklin Press from August 2014 to August 2015 and as a Managing Editor for Carolina Weekly Newspaper Group from February 2010 to August 2014. Michael began their career as a Web journalist for News 14 Carolina from February 2007 to February 2010.

Michael Parks attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. In April 2023, they also obtained the certification of "Advanced Public Information Officer" from FEMA.
