Matthew Williams

Matthew Williams, AICP, is currently the Director of Community Development for the City of Hutchinson, Kansas, since December 2023. Previously, Matthew served as a Land Development and Urban Planner at Professional Engineering Consultants, where responsibilities included on-call planning services and land use planning. From January 2017 to May 2022, Matthew held roles as Senior Planner and Associate Planner with the City of Wichita, managing key neighborhood plan updates and reviewing applications related to land use and zoning. Matthew's earlier experience includes working as a Business Analyst and Senior Geographic Information Systems Technician at Bartlett & West, as well as roles in environmental inspection and GIS technology. Matthew earned a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from The University of Kansas.
