Head Lifeguard/head Instructor And Advanced Lifesaving Instructor at City of Kingston

Maegen Hansen has a diverse work experience that includes roles in the education and lifeguarding fields. Maegen has worked as an Elementary School Teacher for the Thames Valley District School Board since February 2023 and as a French Teacher for the Limestone District School Board since September 2022. Prior to their teaching roles, Hansen worked for the City of Kingston as a Head Lifeguard/Head Instructor and Advanced Lifesaving Instructor starting in September 2017. Maegen also held the position of Specialty Lifesaving Instructor for The Corporation of Loyalist Township starting in September 2021. In addition, Hansen has worked for Queen's University as an Advanced Lifesaving Instructor since September 2021 and as the Assistant Director of Queen's French Camp from May to August 2020. Before their university positions, they worked as a Lifeguard/Instructor for the Town of Tillsonburg from May 2016 to August 2018.

Maegen Hansen attended Queen's University from 2017 to 2020, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. Maegen then pursued further education at Queen's University from 2021 to 2022 and completed a Bachelor of Education degree (BEd). In 2020, they also had the opportunity to participate in an international exchange program at the University of Strathclyde.
