Jason Swenson

Jason Swenson has extensive experience in water resources engineering and planning. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer and MS4 Engineer at the Minnesota Department of Transportation since July 2019, Jason leads a team responsible for managing MnDOT’s drainage system in the Twin Cities Metro area. Prior to this role, Jason worked as a Water Resources Engineer for both Hennepin County and Scott County, providing technical and project management support within their respective environmental departments. Additionally, Jason has served as a District 2 Supervisor for the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District and held engineering positions at Bonestroo and Barr Engineering. Appointed to the Planning Commission by the City of Lakeville in 2013, Jason has also held leadership positions including Vice Chair and Chairperson. Jason earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1998.
