Jamel Banda

Jamel Banda is an experienced finance professional and public figure currently serving as a Common Councillor for the Ward of Cordwainer at the City of London Corporation since March 2022. Simultaneously, Jamel has held the position of Head of Treasury at Ghana International Bank Public Limited Company since April 2015, overseeing the development of treasury and liability strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing profitability across capital, foreign exchange, and money markets. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy Head of Treasury and roles in trading and credit analysis at Ghana International Bank, contributing to emerging market fixed income portfolio management, interest rate risk exposure, and liquidity management. Jamel holds an Executive Education in Advanced Management Practice from Henley Business School and a Bachelor's degree from The University of Manchester.
