Ismael Hernandez

Director Of Public Works Operations at City of Madera

Ismael Hernandez has a long history of work experience in the public works sector. Ismael began their career as a Utility Worker I in 2004 and later became a Street Maintenance Supervisor in 2005. In 2011, they were promoted to the role of Public Works Superintendent, where they were responsible for overseeing various divisions within the department. In 2018, Hernandez took on the position of Public Works Director for the City of Dinuba, where they managed a wide range of operations and divisions, including streets, water distribution, sewer collection, and wastewater treatment. Ismael recently served as the Director of Public Works Operations for the City of Madera, starting in 2023.

Ismael Hernandez obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Liberty University from 2013 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended Dinuba High School. Ismael also holds additional certifications including Signs & Markings Technician III and Traffic Signal Technician I from the International Municipal Signal Association, as well as a Water Distribution Operator Grade 2 certification from the California Department of Public Health.
