The hip and lively Marietta Square plays host to free concerts, annual festivals, a seasonal farmers’ market and other events throughout the year and serves as an inspiration to artists and a local gathering place.

Marietta was named one of the 10 best communities in the country by the National Civic League in 2006. "Money"​ magazine in 2011 named Marietta one of the 25 best places to retire in America. Editors of "Creative Loafing"​ newspaper named Marietta Best Underestimated Suburb in the Best of Atlanta 2010 issue.
