Shelley Chapel

Shelley Chapel currently serves as the City Clerk for the City of National City, a position held since November 2020, where responsibilities include serving as Elections Official and Records Manager. Prior to this role, Shelley served as City Clerk for the City of Lemon Grove from July 2018 to November 2020 and as Assistant City Clerk for the City of Burbank from December 2015 to July 2018. Additionally, Shelley held the position of Assistant City Clerk for the City of Carlsbad while managing the records program as a Records Technician for the City of Poway from December 2001 to December 2013, during which time Shelley also stepped in as Interim City Clerk as needed. Educational background includes studies at the University of Phoenix from 2001 to 2019, earning the title of Municipal Management Coordinator (MMC) in various roles.
