James Hendon is the Commissioner of the Department of Veterans' Services (DVS) for the City of New York. Prior to their current role, Hendon served as the Director of Veterans Future Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, the Chief Operating Officer at BlocPower, and an Associate in Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank. Hendon also has experience as a public affairs officer, admissions officer, and senior advisor. James has served in the US Army Reserve and the US Army, reaching the rank of Captain.
James Hendon's educational career includes a Program in Conservation and Environmental Sustainability from The Earth Institute at Columbia University, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School, a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Art, Philosophy, and Literature (Major) with a Computer Science (Minor) from United States Military Academy at West Point.
