Sarah L. Reed has a diverse work experience in urban planning and community development. Sarah L. began their career as an Urban Planner at Edwards and Kelcey in 2003 and later joined Jacobs Engineering in the same role. After that, they worked at Ground Rules Inc. as a Senior Planner and then at the City of Westfield, Indiana as an Associate Planner. In 2014, Sarah joined the City of Noblesville, where they held various positions, including Economic Development Specialist, Director of Planning and Development, and currently, Community Development Director.

Sarah L. Reed earned a Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from the University of Cincinnati, with a field of study in Urban Planning. Sarah L. attended the university from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program at Fremont Ross High School from 1995 to 1998, specializing in Technology Prep CAD/CAM. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the following: Certified Public Manager from Ball State University in February 2019, AICP Certified from the American Institute of Certified Planners in August 2008, and certifications from the ADVISA Leadership Academy and Drive Results with Talent from ADVISA in November 2022 and August 2023, respectively. Sarah L. also holds the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification from the American Planning Association. Additionally, they completed the Hamilton County Leadership Academy in the Class of 2013.
