Communications Director at City of Port St. Lucie

Sarah Prohaska has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and journalism. Sarah began their career as a Newspaper Reporter in 1998, working for Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers until 1999. Following that, they joined The Palm Beach Post as a Government and Courts reporter, where they covered breaking news and in-depth features for almost a decade. In 2008, Sarah transitioned into freelancing as a Journalist and Writer until 2016 when they became self-employed. In 2016, they joined the City of Port St. Lucie, initially serving as a Public Information Officer supervisor. Sarah eventually progressed within the department, assuming the roles of Communications Manager and Assistant Director Of Communications. Currently, Sarah holds the position of Communications Director for the City of Port St. Lucie. Throughout their various roles, they have gained experience in media relations, creating content, managing social media, and leading community engagement campaigns.

Sarah Prohaska attended the University of Florida from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications. In addition, they obtained a certification as a nationally certified paralegal from the National Association for Legal Assistants in March 2014.
