Shaza Stevenson

Shaza Stevenson is currently the Health & Human Services Deputy Director for the City of Portland, Maine, and has been an independent consultant since July 2017, focusing on marketing, training, and planning for small businesses, nonprofits, and public sectors. Previously, Shaza served as a Senior Policy Analyst at the National Academy for State Health Policy, where responsibilities included conducting policy analysis and providing technical assistance to states. With a strong background in public health, Shaza held various roles within the New Mexico Department of Health, including Deputy Director in the Office of Policy & Accountability and Strategic Planning & Performance Management Manager. Shaza also has experience in education, having taught English in various capacities and worked as a corporate trainer. Shaza's educational background includes a Master's degree in International and Intercultural Management and a Bachelor's degree in Intercultural Communication.
