Curbside Administrator at City of Providence

Melanie A. Jewett, AICP, currently serves as the Curbside Administrator for the City of Providence since July 2023. Previously, Melanie held various planning and program management roles, including Assistant Chief of Planning at the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, where leadership was provided to a team of specialists ensuring compliance with cultural and environmental regulations. Other notable positions include Program Manager for the RI Community Development Block Grant Program at Commerce RI, Supervising Planner at the State of Rhode Island Department of Administration, and Principal Planner for the City of Providence Department of Planning and Development, where significant contributions were made to the Providence Tomorrow initiative. Melanie's earlier experience includes planning roles at the Town of Richmond, Barbara Sokoloff Associates, Beals and Thomas, and The Louis Berger Group. Educational credentials include a Master in Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and dual bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Management and Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island.
