Chief People Officer - HR at City of Santa Monica

Lori G. has over 20 years of experience in human resources, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Lori is currently the Chief People Officer for the City of Santa Monica, where they focus on developing a culture of employee empowerment and creativity. Prior to this, they served as the Human Resources Director for the County of Santa Barbara from 2016 to 2018. From 2008 to 2016, they held various roles at the California State University system, including AVP and VP of HR, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Lori also served as the Associate VP of Human Resources, Safety & Risk Management at San Francisco State University from 2008 to 2013. Before that, they were the Assistant County Administrator for HR at Contra Costa County from 2004 to 2008.

Lori G. holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business from Saint Mary's College of California School of Business and Economics. Lori also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Interpersonal Communications from Arizona State University. In addition, they have a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI. Lori also has additional certifications in Civil Treatment - Employment Learning Innovations (ELI) and Profilor - 360 Degree Feedback.
