Mark Vanderpool has extensive experience in municipal management, currently serving as City Manager for the City of Sterling Heights since July 2004, where responsibilities include overseeing more than 450 employees and directing city operations as the Chief Administrative Officer. Previously, Mark held the position of Assistant Village Manager in the Village of Skokie from January 1993 to June 2004, where duties included assisting in the management of a $118 million budget and supervising senior-level employees. Earlier in their career, Mark was Assistant City Manager for the City of Tecumseh from May 1989 to December 1992, providing support in finance, community development, and policy implementation. Mark Vanderpool holds a BA in Political Science from Augustana College and an MPA in City Management from Northern Illinois University.
