Scott Mendelsberg

Scott Mendelsberg is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Director of Finance for the City of Sweetwater since May 2023. In addition, Scott operates SWM Consulting, which commenced in June 2022. Previously, Scott held the position of Chief Financial Officer at the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department from January 2005 to June 2022. Prior roles at Miami-Dade County spanned from April 1988 to June 2022, including Assistant Director/Chief Financial Officer, Budget Coordinator, Executive Assistant to the Port Director, Budget Analyst, and Program Analyst 2. Scott also contributed to academia as a Lecturer at the University of Miami from January 1989 to May 2019. Scott holds a BA and MPA in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Miami, earned between 1981 and 1987.
