Erin Freeman, CPM, GBA, PHR, SHRM-CP has extensive experience in the field of human resources. Erin is currently the Director of Human Resources at the City of Urbandale since August 2020. Prior to that, Erin served as the HR Manager at Polk County, Iowa from January 2019 to August 2020. From May 2012 to January 2019, they were the Director of Human Resources at Dallas County, Iowa, where they were responsible for managing the county-wide compensation program, directing HR department employees, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Prior to their tenure at Dallas County, Erin worked as a Human Resource Benefits Coordinator at Holmes Murphy & Associates from February 2008 to May 2012. Erin also gained experience as a Staff Relations Coordinator at ChildServe from March 2005 to August 2007 and as a Staffing Specialist at ManpowerGroup from March 2004 to March 2005.
Erin Freeman completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Management at the University of Iowa from 1999 to 2003. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in their field. In 2014, Erin earned the Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification from Drake University. Erin obtained the Group Benefits Administrator (GBA) certification from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) in 2012. Erin also obtained a Certificate in HR-Related Law from the Central Iowa Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management in 2007. In 2009, they earned the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Erin's most recent certification is the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), which they obtained from SHRM in 2015.
