Andrew Kass, AICP has a diverse work experience in the field of community development, planning, and zoning. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Planning and Zoning/Sustainability Intern at Johnson County Planning and Zoning. In 2011, they transitioned to the role of Planning and Zoning Intern at the same organization. Concurrently, they also served as an Associate Planner at Champaign County Department of Planning & Zoning. In 2013, Andrew joined the City of Waukee as a Planner II, before being promoted to the role of Senior Planner in 2015. Andrew continued their career progression at Waukee, serving as the Planning Coordinator from 2021 to early 2022, and is currently working as the Community Development Director. Prior to their planning roles, Andrew gained experience at the University of Iowa as a Building Assistant and later as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Overall, their work experience showcases a strong background in planning and development, spanning both public and academic sectors.

Andrew Kass, AICP, obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa in 2009. Andrew then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the same institution in 2011. In November 2014, they also obtained certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
