Jennifer Andrews

Jennifer Andrews has a diverse range of work experience in community development and planning. Jennifer began their career in 1999 as a Planner for the City of Waukesha, where they performed various planning functions and served as city staff to several committees and authorities. In 2011, they became a Community Development Specialist, focusing on large scale development and redevelopment projects and serving as the primary point of contact for developers. In 2012, they were promoted to City Planner, assisting the Community Development Director in the development and implementation of various plans and codes. In 2014, they were promoted to Community Development Director, responsible for managing the Building Inspection, Planning, and Economic Development Divisions.

Outside of their work with the City of Waukesha, Jennifer has served on various boards and committees. Jennifer has been a Board Member for both the Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin and the City of Waukesha Chamber of Commerce Inc. Jennifer also served as an Advisory Committee Member for the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission and as a Committee Member for the Waukesha Active Community Environment Team, the Waukesha County Economic Development Strategy Workgroup, and the State of Wisconsin Legislative Council Study Committee on the Review of Tax Incremental Financing. Additionally, Jennifer was a Board Member for the Wisconsin Downtown Action Council, where they played a key role in the development of the Wisconsin Main Street Program.

Jennifer Andrews obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in History and Education from Carroll University, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. Jennifer later pursued a Master's in Urban Planning (MUP) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, completing their studies from 1997 to 1999. Jennifer also holds a certification as a Certified Urban Planner from the American Institute of Certified Planners.
