Mark Balfour

Mark Balfour has over 25 years of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Mark has held various leadership roles in companies such as CityFibre, Vestas Offshore AS, Arqiva, Alan Dick UK Ltd, Bechtel, Singtel Optus Australia, Orange, and MKI.

At CityFibre, Mark served as the TalkTalk Strategic Account Development Director, Head of Mobile, Head of Carrier & Mobile, Head of Mobile & Wireless, and Head of Public Sector. Mark was responsible for developing partnerships, winning contracts, and leading engagement with mobile operators, carriers, and the public sector. Mark played a crucial role in expanding CityFibre's network infrastructure and driving growth.

At Vestas Offshore AS, Mark served as the UK Sales Director and led the sales efforts for offshore wind projects in the UK. Mark focused on building relationships with UK-based utilities and developers and overseeing bid teams to secure high-value contracts.

At Arqiva, Mark held the position of Account Director and was responsible for managing commercial, operational, and strategic relationships with corporate customers in the wireless broadband, utility, power generation, and national critical infrastructure sectors.

At Alan Dick UK Ltd, Mark served as the Business Development Manager and developed a unique proposition for UK mobile operators to share infrastructure for temporary coverage at festivals and events. Mark also managed the sale of telecoms towers in the UK.

Mark's work experience also includes roles at Bechtel, Singtel Optus Australia, Orange, and MKI, where they gained valuable project management and engineering experience.

Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated their expertise in building strategic partnerships, driving business growth, and delivering successful projects in the telecommunications industry.

Mark Balfour attended Oxford Brookes University from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering with a 2:1 classification. Prior to their university studies, from 1983 to 1988, they attended Uppingham School where they earned 3 A levels in Maths, Physics, and Design.
