Carl Paradis

Carl Paradis has worked in the web development and UI/UX industry for over 20 years. In 1999, they were the Multimedia Director at Sunrise Studios, where they helped to gut and reface an old mill warehouse, transforming it into a studio for photography, pottery, music, performance, and other arts. In 2000, they worked as a Web Developer and Distributed Applications Developer II at Mellon Financial, where they designed and coded transactional forms for B2B and B2C. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as the Founder of uifusion and as a Senior Web UI Developer at TalkShoe, a Web 2.0 SaaS Telecom/VoIP podcasting/conference-calling start-up. During this time, they also worked as a Front End Web Developer/Consultant at American Eagle Outfitters. In 2009, they worked as a Senior Technical Consultant and Web UI Developer at Summa Technologies, where they led user interface development for application development and organized the first FEC (Front-End Council) bi-weekly front-end development meeting. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a UI Architect at WeSpeke, where they hired, lead, and managed WeSpeke's cohesive UI development team. Carl then went on to found CPUI Consulting, a small UI/UX based consulting company, focused on designing and implementing front-end web architectures and components. Most recently, they have worked as a Sr. Front End Engineer at CivicScience since 2019.

Carl Paradis attended the University of Southern California from 1994 to 1996, studying Film. Carl then attended the University of Southern Maine from 1996 to 1997. In 1997, they transferred to Goddard College where they studied Multimedia in the fields of Film, Video, and Music until 1999.
