Dries Ketelslegers

Dries Ketelslegers has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Dries began their career as a Tutor at Memento Tutoring, where they provided assistance in subjects such as Physics, Electrical Networks, Energy Conversion Machines and Systems, and Chemistry. In 2020, Dries worked as a Student-assistant at KU Leuven, contributing to various projects at the university.

Dries then joined Classified Cycling in 2020 as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where they focused on designing and developing (electro)mechanical systems for drivetrain and transmission technology for bicycles. Their responsibilities included translating product specifications, conducting verifications and validations, creating 2D and 3D models, and testing and validating the results. Additionally, they supported sales, quality, and production, and organized the Europe road trip in 2021.

In 2021, Dries took on a role as a TMS Control Engineer at Lightyear. Here, they worked on controlling the complex R1234yf refrigerant circuit and cabin climate within the Thermal Management System of the Lightyear Zero vehicle. This involved tasks such as writing design requirements, designing a control architecture, conducting system identification, creating and controlling a prototype thermal system, implementing multivariable decoupled PID control, and testing and validating the designed controllers. Dries also integrated generated code within the vehicle software.
