Troy Strand

Troy Strand has extensive experience in the renewable energy industry, with a specific focus on photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy storage solutions. Their work experience spans over 30 years, beginning in 1990 with Southern California Edison (SCE) as a Photovoltaic Systems Design Engineer. Troy conducted experiments and designed various PV systems, including a PV electric vehicle charging station.

Throughout their career, Troy has held leadership positions in multiple companies. Troy was the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Independent Energy Solutions from 1998 to 2013, where they oversaw finance, operations, sales, business development, and project management. Their expertise in military and off-grid installations was notable.

From 2013 to 2015, Troy worked as a Senior Solar Specialist on a self-employed basis. Troy was responsible for evaluating PV systems, training, engineering, and project management. Additionally, they specialized in energy storage and micro-grid applications.

Subsequently, Troy joined Baker Electric in 2015 as the Renewable Energy Solutions Director. In this role, they provided holistic and cost-effective solutions to customers and served as the company's renewable energy expert. Their responsibilities included sales, engineering, and technical support for solar and energy storage systems.

From 2021 to 2022, Troy held senior leadership positions at PermaCity Catalyze and Catalyze, focusing on business development, procurement, and supplier management. Troy played a key role in driving growth and expanding the companies' renewable energy portfolios.

Currently, Troy is the Director of Engineering Services at Clean Energy Associates (CEA), a position they assumed in September 2022. In this role, they oversee engineering services and contributes to the company's mission of advancing clean energy technologies.

Troy Strand earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from California State University, Fullerton, from 1984 to 1988.
