Darren Mills

Darren Mills has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Darren started their career as a Software Engineer at The Alexander Group in 1996 and then worked as a Software and Systems Engineer at Premium Systems, Inc. from 1997 to 2000. Darren then joined Perficient as a Director and worked there for over 16 years until 2016. During their time at Perficient, they held various roles and responsibilities.

In 2017, Darren joined MuleSoft as the Indianapolis MuleSoft Meetup Leader, where they facilitated knowledge sharing and exploration of MuleSoft tools and platforms. Darren contributed to building SOA, SaaS integration, and API solutions using Mule ESB, CloudHub, and AnyPoint API platform. Darren made significant contributions to the MuleSoft community until 2020.

Starting in 2016, Darren became a part of CleanSlate Technology Group, where they initially served as the Director of Cloud Consulting. In 2021, they were promoted to the role of Chief Technology Officer, overseeing technology strategies and operations. Darren continues to hold this position and is currently serving at CleanSlate Technology Group.

In addition to their industry work, Darren has also been involved in academia. Darren joined the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2021, where they have held roles as a Graduate Assistant and Head Graduate Assistant for various computer science courses, focusing on advanced internet systems, applications, and software development processes.

Darren Mills has a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Computing Systems from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they obtained between 2020 and 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Butler University from 1994 to 1998. During their bachelor's degree, they also pursued minors in Mathematics and Finance.

In addition to their formal education, Darren has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Darren holds certifications in various fields, including cloud computing, software development, and project management. These certifications include AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, AWS Certified Developer – Associate, Professional Scrum Developer I, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, New Relic Certified Performance Pro, Mulesoft Certified Developer (MCD), Certified Professional Scrum Master I, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I, Salesforce Certified Administrator, and Sun Certified Java Programmer 1.4 (SCJP). These certifications have been acquired from reputed institutions such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Scrum.org, MuleSoft, Salesforce, and Sun Microsystems.

Darren is also proactive in continuing their professional development, as evidenced by the recent certifications they have obtained in file storage, migration ambassador foundations, and well-architected proficiency from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
