Jules Besnainou

Jules Besnainou currently serves as a Member of the CBAM Expert Group and the Innovation Fund Expert Group at the European Commission since March 2023. As the Executive Director of Cleantech for Europe since March 2021, Jules leads initiatives aimed at prioritizing cleantech innovations to achieve EU climate goals. With extensive experience at Cleantech Group, including roles as Director, Product Manager, and Research & Advisory since February 2012, Jules applies expertise to foster cleantech advancements. In addition, Jules is an early-stage investor in transformative sectors, focusing on companies that drive disruption in energy, water, industry, and education since June 2013. Previous roles include an internship at HSBC in Mergers & Acquisitions and serving as Vice President at Sciences Po Finance. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Finance & Strategy from Sciences Po and a Bachelor in Social Sciences from the same institution, supplemented by studies at Université de Montréal.
